Fred Whitaker joined Cummins & White, LLP as an associate in 1990, and currently serves as the Partner in Charge of its Transactional Practice. His practice has focused on environmental insurance coverage and real estate concerns. In 1993, Mr. SC Fuels of Orange, California as Vice President/General Counsel, later assuming the post of Chief Operating Officer of their Northwest Division.
In 2000, Mr. Whitaker returned to Cummins & White as the Partner in Charge of its Transactional Practice and continues in this role today. As outside general counsel, his practice focuses on the needs of private business for entity formation and governance, mergers & acquisitions, tax, risk management & employment, finance & due diligence, corporate governance, commercial real estate, and estate/succession planning. Mr. Whitaker currently serves as Cummins & White’s Managing Partner.
Mr. Whitaker’s additional accomplishments include membership in the State Bar of California and the Orange County Bar Association, served as Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Orange, California, Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County, Chairman of St. John’s Lutheran School in Orange, Vice President of the Santiago Canyon College Foundation Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America (SIGMA), Leadership in the California Independent Oil Marketers, and Board Member of the Community Foundation of Orange. He holds Honors in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley graduating in the top 15% of his class at Loyola Marymount University and installed as a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society.
Mr. Whitaker and his family presently reside in Old Towne Orange, California, where he is an active volunteer and participant in Little League, Boy Scouts, Kids Musical Theater, and Orange Lutheran High School Music, Drama and Athletics.
